It was a very gloomy day outside today, with lots of fog.  I woke up and made some coffee.  We have a Keurig machine that is amazing for making single serve cups of coffee.  I, of course, added my mocha creamer to it.  LOVE IT.  I also decided to make myself a breakfast wrap which included: eggs, onions, spinach, peppers, and cheese all mixed together in a fry pan and served in a whole wheat tortilla. YUM.

I spent the beginning of my day doing homework (as you do) and studying for my exams for next week.  Oh yeah at this time we had made plans to celebrate because my good friend has just gotten into PA(physician assistant) school, which is amazing! (#soproud) We decided to go see The Scorch Trials (which was pretty good), and go to Perkins.  At Perkins, I got an omelet, hashbrowns, and a muffin that I was keeping for breakfast the next day.  Breakfast food 4eva!  My friend got french toast made out of brioche bread and it looked so good!  I ate until I was stuffed.

We came back to the house and just sat around talking for a while before we all headed to bed.  I forgot how nice it is to just sit down and chat with my bestest pals, without worrying about anything like homework or other non-exciting life things.  It's great. I should do it more often. :)

So that was my Saturday!  Pretty exciting I know right. What did you do today?  Let me know!!!

Until next time,

RIP Linkey :(

This was always my favorite picture of Linkey.

It is with great sadness that I am writing this today.  I got a text from my Mom this morning that said that my beloved cat Linkey passed away last night.  We got him when he was an adult cat so we are not exactly sure how old he was, but we guessed he was about 18 years old.  So he had a long life.  A loving life.  I will miss our cuddles on the couch, and your incessant meow-ing for food.

You were put through a lot with me and my sister, but yet you always were such a nice cat.

And while I am very sad, I know that he is no longer in pain.

RIP Linkey.  You will be very missed. <3

(Go pet your animals.)
Lots of love,

Well....the time has finally come:  I am going to be a senior...IN COLLEGE.  WOW.
I honestly never imagined this day coming because I always told myself that I had a lot of time to figure out what I wanted to do after I graduate, and now that I start school on Tuesday, I have quite  bit of pressure to find something that I would like to do.  To be honest (and I've never told anyone this before), I would absolutely LOVE to do this(blog and make videos) for a living.  I think that it is a really unique way to express your thoughts and be creative in the process (which I have always wanted to do!)  Who knows!!  I just don't want to settle for a job and hate every second of it and be stuck doing it for the rest of my life.  I don't know haha does anyone else feel this intense pressure as well?  It can be very nerve wracking.

Other than the obvious pressure of figuring out post-college plans, I am excited to get to see friends, make new friends and new memories.  It should be a year of fun! and also learning of course ;)
Can't wait to take you on this adventure with you.
& if you are starting school soon like me, GOOD LUCK!! You can do it! We're all in this together *resists temptation to sing High School Music*
Here's to a great, amazing, fun, fantastic school year!

Until next time,

Minnesota State Fair 2015

(I don't know why I shouted that...)
So I recently went to the Minnesota State Fair.  If you've never been or never even heard of the MN State Fair, you are missing out!! No but for real, it is a 12 day fair leading up to Labor Day, and has one of the highest attendances of any fair in the US.  It is absolutely huge and so many things to do/see/eat.  (especially eat haha).  THERE IS SO MUCH FOOD TO EAT.  I thought I would take some pictures of my day so it's like you were there with me.  Sound like a good idea? Yeah? Yeah!

The day started off early. It was actually such a perfect day to go because it wasn't too sunny so it didn't get very hot (it was about 75 degrees!)  The mission for the day was to find the "Macaroni & Cheese Cupcake", which was a new food to the fair and my sister was making it her life goal to try one.  We got to the fair at about 8:30 am to beat all of the afternoon crowds.

Here is a view of the water tower with the logo on it.

After getting a quick breakfast sandwich and coffee from the French Meadow Bakery, we headed to the Green Energy building where you can learn about all things energy efficiency.  And there was also strange random cutouts to put your face in, so my sister and I did the classic "American Gothic" one (shown below).

We then headed over to the Giant Sing Along area, where we proceeded to sing "Celebration", "Uptown Funk", and "Shut Up and Dance with Me", and ate a funnel cake. YUM.
Around lunchtime, the crowds started to get bigger, which meant that we had to get food quickly before we would have to wait in line forever!

We headed to the Dairy Barn, which is famous for their malts, sundaes, and ice cream cones.  I got the strawberry malt and it was so freakin' delicious!!  The Dairy Barn also houses the butter sculpture heads. Yep, you read that right.  There are literally heads made out of butter on display.  The Princess Kay of the Milky Way, gets here head carved out of butter every year.  Only in the Mid-West haha!

The next stop is one of my favorite things to do and a must if you are going to the state fair: Sweet Martha's Cookies.  MMMMMMM Delicious.  Literally the best chocolate chip cookies EVER.  The lines for this place is always crazy busy but totally worth it!

After walking around for a bit, we decided to try and find the Mac & Cheese Cupcake.  We asked the information booth where we could find it and they told us that is was from Lulu's.  I had never been to Lulu's before, and their menu was definitely interesting and filled with foods I probably wouldn't ever eat haha.

WE FOUND IT.  This is what it looked like.  I'm not sure what I was expecting from a "Mac & Cheese Cupcake", but I don't think it was this.  It was basically baked mac&cheese on top of a bread crumb base, and that fake-cheese-from-a-can on top...interesting...

I happened to catch the perfect reaction from my sister of the cupcake.  Obviously loving it...JOKES, no it was kind of gross.  Definitely won't ever try that again.   We were very disappointed especially since it was $6!!!

I had to wash that horrible cupcake taste out of my mouth and it was getting a bit warm out, so I decided to get a blue raspberry snow cone!  Very good and refreshing!

The snow cone turned our tongues blue :P

After spending nearly 5 hours at the fair and the crowds, we decided it was time to go.  I was exhausted and could sleep for like 4 days straight.

Overall, I had a fun fair experience and even tried some new foods.
If you ever get the chance to go to the Minnesota State Fair, I highly recommend it!
