Hey everyone!
Another review here on the blog!

Today I am going to be taking a look at Shea Moisture Daily Hydration Overnight Face Oil.
I picked this product up at Target a couple of weeks ago.  I was looking to get a new face serum to try after my trusty Lancôme Youth Activating Serum ran out (and I was looking for something a little more cost effective...) . At Target, this product was on sale for $5.49! Crazy cheap compared to my Lancôme serum.
I appreciate how it is for overnight use, but I think it would be great for the upcoming dry wintry mornings.  After just one night of using it, I awoke to soft, hydrated, and refreshed skin.  I have also used it a few times in the mornings and it was great to help brighten and hydrate my skin to be more dewy and youthful.  Overall it is a great product and because you only need a little that can go a long way, it should last a while!  I also really love the little dropper and it makes getting the product out of the bottle a little easier.

Hey everyone!  Surprise!!  Meet the two new additions to our family:  Nemo and Mocha.

The one on the left is Nemo and the one on the right is Mocha.  We adopted them (#AdoptDontshop) from Animal Allies up in Duluth, MN.  They are tabby kitten sisters from the same litter, and as soon as my mom held them at the animal shelter, she knew she wanted to pick them up and add them to the family.

It's only been 2 weeks since we picked them up, but I already love them SO much.  I bought them a little bed, a cat tree, and a plethora or cat toys.  They have SOO many cat toys.  They already have my parent's wrapped around their little fingers (err..paws).

Anyways, here's a little kitten slideshow of pictures that I have taken over the last several days (I mean look at their cute little faces)

Talk to you soon!

Hey everyone!  My boyfriend and I recently booked a little staycation in our hometown of Minneapolis.  Sometimes it's nice to "get away" even if it's only 30 minutes away.  There are so many things to do in downtown Minneapolis that we are always finding new places to go and new food to try.  I wanted to check out a new hotel that we had never stayed at before.  I checked out some reviews on and TripAdvisor to find some nice, romantic ones (that also don't break the budget...), while also being really cool and modern.  I stumbled upon Hewing Hotel in the list of potential candidates, and after taking a browse through their website, it looked like exactly what we were looking for.

The hotel is actually a renovated warehouse built in 1987.  The hotel's name is inspired by the giant pine beams that are everywhere in the interior of the hotel.  The beams were logged in Minnesota and floated down the Mississippi river to the mills just down the road. Even in our own hotel room there was a really cool pine beam next to the bed that made it feel really rustic.  Hewing Hotel also features Tullibee:  A unique North Loop restaurant and bar inspired by Minnesota's lakes and woods.  As such, the menu is strongly influenced by Scandinavian cooking.  The hotel also features a 24 hour fitness center, a year-round rooftop bar, sauna, and spa pool.

The lobby was equally as extravagant and warm and cozy with a roaring fire in the fireplace.

Our hotel room!  You can see the pine beam at the base of the bed - very cool!

We wondered out to Red Cow in Minneapolis for a bite to eat, but I really wanted to head back so we could relax on the big, comfy KING sized SERTA mattress and under the cozy duvet.  And relax we did!  I think we didn't even leave the bed the entire rest of the night.
I was so sad to check out the next morning because it was such a nice hotel and we just had the best, most relaxing time.  I can't wait until our next staycation because this place will definitely be on my list of places to go!

Thanks Hewing Hotel for your lovely hospitality!

Hey everyone!  I'm back with another photo diary from a couple of weekends ago when my boyfriend and I went and booked a weekend away at a local hotel in downtown Minneapolis and spent the weekend exploring all the sights and sounds that Minneapolis has to offer.

Our destination (after getting a coffee at a local Caribou of course) was the Stone Arch Bridge.

My favorite order at Caribou: a blended caramel cooler.  MMMMM.

When we were walking over the bridge, we saw several people carrying bouquets of flowers.  I really wanted to get a bouquet of flowers after seeing people enjoying their flowers.  After walking a little while longer, we stumbled upon a little farmers market that has some homemade goodies, as well as a bouquets of Autumnal flowers.  My boyfriend surprised me and bought me some and it made me very happy :)

The bouquet!

My boyfriend being super cute and buying my flowers.
I really like this shot of me taking photos on the Stone Arch Bridge.

It was such a lovely weekend and I'm so happy we get to do things like this and just explore the city we live in :)

What is your favorite part of where YOU live?

Hey everyone!  Emily here!  I recently celebrated my one year anniversary with my boyfriend.  We decided to take weekend trip away to the Duluth, MN and the North Shore as a little way to celebrate with each other.  We were both really excited to get away because we are in a Long Distance relationship so it makes these little weekend trips even more special.

On the Saturday, we jumped in the car with my trusty camera (and two Caribou hot drinks) and headed up the North Shore with Split Rock Lighthouse as the end destination.  The drive up there was beautiful with all of the fall colors and it was just the most glorious day: sun and blue skies as far as the eye could see.

Here are some of the pictures I took from that little adventure:

I also talk about it in a recent video, if you want to check it out! Weekend Trip to the North Shore Video

It was definitely a time that I will never forget.  What is one of your favorite places to visit? :)

Talk soon x
